Malahide Community Place provides a community recreation and banquet hall, a spacious and impressive catering kitchen, a meeting room, the Gary Barat Pavilion, two lighted baseball diamonds, a concession facility, and the new home of the Springfield Public Library.  There is plentiful free parking that features a horse shelter in the northeast corner.  Nestled behind the building is a scenic green space with a newly installed playground.  There is more planned for this beautiful area.  Malahide Community Place - The Perfect Setting for your Wedding Day.

The community centre will serve as the Township's Emergency Shelter and has also been designated as the Cooling Centre for residents during summertime Heat Alerts issued by the St. Thomas Elgin Health Unit.

South Dorchester Community Hall and Malahide Fire Department #4-Lyons features a community hall with a seating capacity of 85 and a fully-equipped catering kitchen, along with the modern No.4 Malahide Fire Station, all at one site, complete with lots of on-site parking.  There is a beautiful open green space behind the facility that will soon boast playground equipment and future recreation and leisure amenities.  The new, modern Fire Station has a 4-bay garage for fire vehicles, a training room and office. 

 

East Elgin Community Complex

 

  

Jointly owned by the Township of Malahide and the Town of Aylmer, the East Elgin Community Complex opened to the public on May 29, 2004.
