How do I bring a matter before Council?

Individuals or delegations wishing to address Council are asked to contact the Clerk's department at 519-773-5344 no later than the Monday at noon prior to the Thursday meeting in order to be placed on the agenda as a delegation. It is recommended that all groups appoint one person to act as their spokesperson.  Individuals or small delegations are limited to not more than fifteen (15) minutes. A delegation consisting of more than five (5) persons shall be limited to two (2) speakers each limited to speaking not more than ten (10) minutes.

When and where do township Council meetings take place?

The Malahide Township Council meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at 51221 Ron McNeil Line, Springfield.  Please note there is the odd exception to this as well as reduced summer Council meetings , please view the 2012 Council Meeting Calendar.  Commencing in March of 2011, Council meetings are now held in the Springfield and Aread Community Service Building.

Are Council Meetings Open to the Public?

All Council meetings are public meetings, and members of the public are welcome to attend.  Certain portions of some meetings (usually at the end of the meeting) may be closed to the public for discussions regarding personnel, legal and property matters, but all other matters are discussed in open Council.
