Malahide Fire Services

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY --CALL 911

Malahide Fire Services operates from four district stations and has a compliment of approximately one hundred volunteer officers and firefighters and one full time Fire Chief.

Fire suppression, fire prevention and rescue services are located in each of the district stations.  Specialized skills such as high angle rescue, vehicle extrication, air systems, silo and ice/water rescue are also located at the various stations.  Two or more fire stations may respond to incidents, dependent on the circumstances.  Each fire station has a heart defibulator and advanced training for first responders.  Each of the four fire stations has a fire pumper, tanker (water truck) and a rescue unit.

The Volunteers devote countless hours to advancing their skills by regular training and further support the Department and their community by fundraising projects to purchase specialized equipment that may not be otherwise possible.

The four district stations are located at the following addresses:

Malahide Fire Station #1- 50896 Vienna Line

Malahide Fire Station #2 - 9036 Springfield Road

Malahide Fire Station #3 - 51221 Ron McNeil Line

Malahide Fire Station #4 - 49431 Lyons Line

Did you know.....

That having high speed internet telephone service is not the same as having a regular phone line when calling 911?  This service does not require a conventional telephone cable to be installed into a home and it does not allow direct access to the 9-1-1 system.  At the present time if a hard wired phone user (not a cell phone) dials 9-1-1 the call is automatically directed to the 9-1-1 system for police, fire or ambulance.  High speed internet phone service does not have this feature; the call is directed to an answering service and then connects the user to the 9-1-1 system. Additionally if a caller using high speed internet phone service is not able to complete their message the system does not identify the address of the caller, as it does with telephone cable phone systems.
Consumers are advised to review the features of high speed internet phone service and to consider not canceling conventional telephone services.

Helpful 911 tips when calling from a wireless phone:

  • during an emergency, always provide the operator with your complete wireless phone number including area code
  • tell the operator your location and the location of the emergency you are reporting.  Use the civic addressing numbers (blue & white sign)
  • Stay on the line with the operator. If the call is disconnected, leave your phone powered on in case the operator needs to call you back
  • Don't re-program 911 on your wireless phone as this will reduce the chance of making accidental calls to 911
