The Township of Malahide aims to guide you through your development process by meeting early on to discuss your plans and work with staff in our planning and building department to ensure your success in our community. We currently pursue opportunities in partnership with the County of Elgin.  Elgin County is an upper-tier municipality comprised of seven local municipalities with a population of approximately 46,000 people spanning an area of 460,000 acres.

As part of our strategic plan, The Township of Malahide prioritizes: engaging the community, unlocking responsible growth, maximizing our assets and implementing strong levels of service.

The Township of Malahide is home to many thriving businesses in the food, beverage and primary producer categories and boasts its incredible variety of agricultural goods scattered throughout its 97,622 acres of land. According to the most recent Census of Agricultural, the Census Consolidated Subdivision of Malahide is home to 369 individual farm owners.

The Township of Malahide is located on the north shore of Lake Erie. The Township is directly linked to Canada’s major transportation artery, Highway 401, with exchanges on Imperial Road (Hwy 73), Belmont Road (Hwy 74), Dorchester Road and Putnam Road. Talbot Line (Hwy 3) links to the Windsor border crossing to the west and Niagara board crossing to the east. Malahide is within a two-hour drive of more than six million customers and four major border crossings to the United States. This strategic location allows easy access to many of the world’s fastest growing markets. Malahide’s location may be the competitive advantage your company is looking for.
